hash·ish (hă-shēshґ) [Ar. “herb”] a preparation of the unadulterated resin scraped from the flowering tops of cultivated female hemp plants, Cannabis sativa L. (Cannabaceae), which is smoked or chewed for its intoxicating effects. It is far more potent than marijuana. See cannabis.
