Hafnia
Genus in the family Enterobacteriaceae; found in human feces, a rare cause of nosocomial infection; associated with diarrheal disease of undefined mechanism. There is a single species, H. alvei.

Haf·nia (hafґne-ə) [L. Hafnia the old name for Copenhagen] a genus of gram-negative facultatively anaerobic bacteria of the family Enterobacteriaceae, made up of motile, peritrichously flagellated, nonencapsulated straight rods. The type species is H. alvei.
