(sāl-vahґzha) [Port. “wild fireâ€] a progressive, sometimes fatal variant of pemphigus foliaceus endemic in certain areas of South America, characterized by a burning sensation with blisters that rupture to form erosions with peripheral rolls of epidermis. Called also Brazilian, South American, or wildfire pemphigus.
