en·to·ret·i·na (en″to-retґĭ-nə) [ento- + retina] the internal or nervous portion of the retina, disposed in five layers, which are named respectively outer plexiform, inner nuclear, inner plexiform, ganglion, and nerve fiber layers. See illustration at retina.
