zo·le·dron·ic ac·id (zoґlə-dron″ik) a bisphosphonate inhibitor of osteoclastic bone resorption, used for the treatment of hypercalcemia of malignancy, multiple myeloma, bone metastases from solid tumors, and osteitis deformans; administered intravenously.
