human T-lymphotropic virus 2
(HTLV-2) a virus of the genus Deltaretrovirus, having extensive serologic cross-reactivity with HTLV-1, isolated from an atypical T cell variant of hairy cell leukemia and from patients with other hematologic disorders; no clear association with disease has been established. Called also human T-cell leukemia v. type II and human T-cell lymphotropic v. type II.
