nodular vasculitis

nodular vasculitis
vasculitis of subcutaneous tissues of the lower legs, a condition of unknown etiology, almost identical to erythema induratum but without evidence of tuberculosis; it is usually seen in young or middle-aged women. There are painful, red to blue, nodular lesions that may ulcerate and leave scars or resorb and leave atrophic depressions. In late stages, the subcutaneous fat is replaced by fibrosis and atrophy.
