- (PCV), pneumococcal 7-valent conjugate vaccine (PCV7) a heptavalent vaccine containing purified polysaccharides of the capsular antigens of Streptococcus pneumoniae serovars 4, 6B, 9V, 14, 18C, 19F, 23F individually coupled to a nonpathogenic variant of diphtheria toxin, diphtheria CRM197 protein; used for routine immunization of children aged less than 23 months as well as children aged 24 to 59 months who are at high risk for pneumococcal infection. Administered intramuscularly.
