oral tuberculosis

oral tuberculosis
a rare type of tuberculosis in the mouth, most often resulting from hematogenous spread of pulmonary tuberculosis; it usually involves the gingivae and tongue, with small, crateriform, painless ulcers that bleed readily and are surrounded by edema or reddish nodules. See also tuberculous gingivitis, under gingivitis.
