truncus fasciculi atrioventricularis
trunk of atrioventricular bundle: the undivided portion of the atrioventricular bundle, from its origin at the atrioventricular node to the point of division into the right and left bundle branches at the superior end of the muscular part of the interventricular septum. It contains the penetrating portion of the bundle, a short segment of multiple small fascicles that penetrate the fibrous tissue of the atrioventricular septum.
