cli·o·quin·ol (kli″o-kwinґol) [USP] an antibacterial and antifungal agent with antieczematic and antipruritic properties; it was formerly used as a topical antiinfective in a wide range of dermatoses and was administered orally in the treatment of amebic dysentery; use has been discontinued because of associated neurotoxicity. Called also iodochlorhydroxyquin.
