self tolerance

self tolerance
immunologic unresponsiveness to autoantigens (self antigens), acquired during fetal life by a process of “self recognition.” Theories of tolerance induction include deletion of antigen-responsive clones of B cells, antigen-induced inactivation of B or T cells, and induction of antigen-specific T suppressor cells.
