generalized tetanus
the most common type of Clostridium tetani infection, characterized by tetanic muscular contractions and hyperreflexia, resulting in trismus (lockjaw), laryngospasm, generalized muscle spasm, opisthotonos, respiratory spasm, seizures, and paralysis that can be fatal.
