biliary drainage test

biliary drainage test
examination of the contents of the duodenum at the site where the common bile duct empties into it; this is done when other, more conventional diagnostic tests for gallbladder disease reveal no pathology but the patient's symptoms persist. Specimens are collected with a special tube and examined for leukocytes, cholesterol crystals, and parasites.
