patellar tendinopathy
an overuse injury of the patellar tendon, seen in activities that involve vigorous jumping, such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, and ballet; the predominant symptom is pain at the lower end of the patella, made worse by bending of the knee. Called also jumper's knee and patellar tendinitis.
