peroxidase-antiperoxidase technique
- peroxidase-antiperoxidase technique
- a technique for detecting antigen or antibody in tissue sections. The tissue section is incubated with rabbit antibody specific for the antigen to be detected, followed by an excess of antirabbit IgG. A complex of horseradish peroxidase and rabbit antiperoxidase is added; these are linked to the antigen-bound antibody by the antirabbit IgG. The PAP complexes are then stained by incubation with a chromogenic substrate to produce a colored reaction product. Called also PAP t.
