orbital apex syndrome
ophthalmoplegia with impairment of vision that may lead to blindness, swelling of the eyelids, ptosis, hyper- or hypoesthesia of the upper eyelid, one half of the forehead, and cornea, and vasomotor disturbances; it is caused by traumatic, inflammatory, or neoplastic processes involving the sphenoidal fissure and optic canal or the structures they contain.
