Asherson syndrome

Asherson syndrome
a syndrome of dysphagia due to neuromuscular incoordination and achalasia of the cricopharyngeus muscle during the third stage of swallowing. It causes diversion of liquids into the air passages, precipitating paroxysms of coughing. Called also cricopharyngeal achalasia s.
