chon·dro·blas·to·ma (kon″dro-blas-toґmə) [chondroblast + -oma] a usually benign tumor derived from immature cartilage cells, occurring primarily in the epiphyses of adolescents; it is characterized by fine, matrix-like calcifications arranged hexagonally, often resembling chicken wire, around closely packed cells.
