sulcus lateralis cerebri
[TA] lateral sulcus of cerebrum: a deep cleft beginning at the anterior perforated substance, extending laterally between the temporal and frontal lobes, and turning posteriorly between the temporal and parietal lobes. It divides into posterior, ascending, and anterior branches. Called also Sylvius s. or fissure and sylvian s. or fissure.
