streptogenin
strep·to·gen·in (strep″to-jenґin) a growth-stimulating factor for certain microorganisms and laboratory animals, found in protein hydrolysates. Since a large number of peptides have streptogenin activity, they may serve simply as an accessible source of amino acids.
