nonalcoholic steatohepatitis
(NASH) an inflammatory disease of the liver of uncertain pathogenesis, histologically resembling alcoholic hepatitis but occurring in nonalcoholic patients, most often obese women with type 2 diabetes mellitus; clinically it is generally asymptomatic or mild, but fibrosis or cirrhosis may result.
