stearoyl-CoA 9-desaturase
- stearoyl-CoA 9-desaturase
- ste·a·ro·yl-CoA 9-de·sat·u·rase (ste-arґo-əl ko-aґ de-sachґu-rās) [EC 1.14.19.5] an enzyme activity of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the desaturation of stearoyl coenzyme A to form oleoyl coenzyme A. It is part of a complex in the endoplasmic reticulum that also includes a flavoprotein (FAD), cytochrome b5, and cytochrome-b5 reductase. Called also acyl-CoA desaturase.
