fowl spirochetosis a septicemic disease of fowls caused by the spirochete Borrelia anserina, and spread by the fowl tick Argas persicus; manifestations include fever, anorexia, diarrhea, and neurologic signs ranging from mild incoordination to convulsions, sometimes with paralysis and death.
