- (OAVS) the association of hemifacial microsomia with vertebral and ocular defects, often in combination with anomalies of the cardiovascular, respiratory, genitourinary, and central nervous systems; its manifestations are highly variable. Most cases are sporadic, but instances of autosomal dominant or recessive inheritance have been reported. Cf. oculoauriculovertebral dysplasia, under dysplasia.
