masticator space
a potential space of the neck anterior and lateral to the pharyngomaxillary space, formed by splitting of the superficial layer of the deep cervical fascia and containing the muscles of mastication, the ramus and posterior part of the mandible, branches of the mandibular nerve, and the maxillary artery and its branches.
