involvement of the heart in sarcoidosis, with lesions ranging from a few asymptomatic, microscopic granulomas to widespread infiltration of the myocardium by large masses of sarcoid tissue, often leading to arrhythmias, heart block, mitral regurgitation, or sudden death.
