jaw reflex
jaw jerk reflex closure of the mouth caused by a downward blow on the lower jaw while it hangs passively open; this is most obvious with lesions of the corticospinal tract and is seen less often in healthy individuals. Called also jaw jerk, chin r., and mandibular r.
