radix parasympathica gangliorum pelvicorum
[TA] parasympathetic root of pelvic ganglia: origin, sacral plexus—S3–S4; distribution, leaving the sacral plexus, they enter the inferior hypogastric plexus and supply the pelvic organs; modality, preganglionic parasympathetic and visceral afferent. Called also nervi splanchnici pelvici [TA alternative] and pelvic splanchnic nerves.
