Watanabe heritable hyperlipidemic (WHHL) rabbit
a mutant strain of rabbits that have a genetic deficiency of LDL (low-density lipoprotein) receptors similar to that occurring in human familial hypercholesterolemia; they are used in studies of lipoprotein metabolism and atherogenesis.
