Pythium

Pythium
Py·thi·um (pithґe-əm) [Gr. pythein to make rot] a genus of root-parasitic, moldlike chromists of the family Pythiaceae, having filamentous sporangia and smooth-walled spherical oogonia. Most members are plant parasites.
