Pythiaceae
Py·thi·a·ceae (pith″e-aґse-e) a family of aquatic, moldlike chromists of the order Pythiales, consisting mainly of plant parasites with some saprobes, having an intracellular mycelium and sporangia borne singly on branching sporangiophores; it includes a genus pathogenic for animals, Pythium.
