J pouch
an ileoanal reservoir created by lateral anastomosis of two loops of ileum 15 to 20 cm long.

Creation of an ileal J pouch using a cutting linear stapler. (A), A reservoir is created from the distal ileum; (B), the stapler joins two limbs of intestine while dividing the intervening wall; (C), the diameter of the resulting pouch is twice the original diameter of the ileum.
