poly·ac·rylo·ni·trile (pol″e-ə-kril″o-niґtrīl) a polymer of acrylonitrile used as a hemodialyzer membrane; it is more permeable by diffusion than cuprophane for larger molecules, but fluid removal is rapid and not entirely predictable.
