polioencephalomalacia
po·lio·en·ceph·a·lo·ma·la·cia (po″le-o-en-sef″ə-lo-mə-laґshə) a highly fatal disease of cattle, sheep, and pigs, caused by a thiamine deficiency; symptoms include edema of the brain with muzzle twitching, opisthotonos, blindness, and inability to stand. Called also pseudoencephalomalacia and cerebrocortical necrosis.
