coccidioidal pneumonia
pneumonia following primary coccidioidomycosis; it varies from a slowly developing disease with chronic cough, chest pain, hemoptysis, and fever to a more rapidly spreading acute condition that is usually seen in immunocompromised patients and is characterized by cavitation, spread to other organ systems, and often death.
