Cap·si·cum (kapґsĭ-kəm) [L.] a genus of plants of the family Solanaceae, including types of hot peppers. C. frutesґcens is the African chili; C. anґnum var. conoiґdis is the tabasco pepper; and C. anґnum var. lonґgum is the Louisiana long pepper. See also capsicum.
