phospholamban

phospholamban
phos·pho·lam·ban (fos″fo-lamґban) a 22-kilodalton membrane-bound polypeptide of the sarcoplasmic reticulum that stimulates cardiac relaxation; upon phosphorylation by a cyclic AMP–dependent protein kinase, it activates the calcium pump, stimulating the uptake and storage of calcium by the sarcoplasmic reticulum and resulting in relaxation of cardiac muscle.
