pentobarbital sodium
[USP] the sodium salt of pentobarbital, used as a sedative, particularly as a presurgical adjunct to anesthesia, and as an anticonvulsant for emergency treatment of acute convulsive episodes; administered orally, intramuscularly, intravenously, and rectally.
