malignant atrophic papulosis
- malignant atrophic papulosis
- an often fatal disease usually seen in men, characterized by endovasculitis of the skin, gastrointestinal tract, and sometimes other organs, resulting in ischemic infarction of involved tissues. Skin lesions are erythematous papules that become umbilicated and develop porcelain-white centers with telangiectatic borders; these often atrophy and leave white scars. Called also Degos disease.
