subacute nodular migratory panniculitis

subacute nodular migratory panniculitis
a variant of erythema nodosum characterized by discrete nodules with erythematous borders, found asymmetrically on one or both of the lower limbs. The lesions are usually less acute and less numerous than those in classic erythema nodosum; the older central nodules coalesce and clear, and new lesions form nearby, giving the appearance of migration. Called also chronic erythema nodosum, erythema nodosum migrans, and Vilanova disease.
