cold panniculitis
traumatic panniculitis caused by excessive exposure to cold; children are the most susceptible, but it also occurs in adults who work or otherwise spend long periods outdoors in the winter. Persons who suck excessively on ice or frozen confections may get cold panniculitis around the mouth. Babies and young boys may get it in the scrotum.
