pseudobulbar palsy

pseudobulbar palsy
spastic weakness of the muscles innervated by the cranial nerves, i.e., the muscles of the face, pharynx, and tongue, owing to bilateral lesions of the corticospinal tract; symptoms include dysphagia, dysarthria, and spastic facial jerks, sometimes with uncontrolled weeping or laughing and Cheyne-Stokes respiration. Called also pseudobulbar or supranuclear paralysis.
