ischial weight-bearing orthosis

a hip-knee-ankle-foot orthosis that transmits weight from the ischium to the ground; there is usually a large cuff in the ischial region to absorb weight and provide attachment for the upright bars; the knee and ankle may be either allowed movement with hinges or kept rigid.
