octreotide acetate
the acetate salt of octreotide, used as a treatment adjunct for the palliative treatment of diarrhea associated with gastrointestinal endocrine tumors, such as carcinoid tumors and VIPomas, and to decrease the secretion of growth hormone in acromegaly; administered subcutaneously, intragluteally, or intravenously.
