[TA] medial nuclei of thalamus: groups of nerve cells lying between the internal medullary lamina laterally and projecting toward the ependymal lining of the third ventricle medially; included are the large nucleus mediodorsalis and a series of smaller nuclei of uncertain significance and connections.
