bro·mo·di·phen·hy·dra·mine hy·dro·chlo·ride (bro″mo-di″fen-hiґdrə-mēn) [USP] a derivative of monoethanolamine, closely related to diphenhydramine; it is a sedating antihistamine (H1 receptor antagonist) with anticholinergic effects, used in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and cutaneous manifestations of allergic reactions, and as an ingredient in some cough and cold preparations, administered orally.
