NAD(P)+ transhydrogenase (AB-specific)
- NAD(P)+ transhydrogenase (AB-specific)
- NAD(P)+ trans·hy·dro·gen·ase (AB-spe·ci·fic) (trans-hiґdro-jən-ās spə-sifґik) [EC 1.6.1.2] an enzyme of the inner mitochondrial membrane that uses the energy generated by proton translocation to catalyze the reaction NADH + NADP+ = NAD+ + NADPH. The enzyme is regulated by the relative concentrations of NAD and NADP and by the energy state of the membrane, becoming activated in the presence of excess ATP and electrons from the electron transport chain. The enzyme from heart is A specific with respect to NAD+ and B specific with respect to NADP+.
