NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone)

NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone)
NADH de·hy·dro·ge·nase (ubi·quin·one) (de-hiґdro-jən-ās u-bikґwin-ōn) [EC 1.6.5.3] an enzyme complex of the inner mitochondrial membrane that catalyzes the transfer of electrons from NADH to ubiquinone, oxidizing the former and reducing the latter in a reaction of the electron transport chain (q.v.). The enzyme complex contains flavoprotein (FMN) and iron-sulfur prosthetic groups and is associated with proton translocation and the resultant synthesis of ATP.
