deep pectoral myopathy
degenerative myopathy degeneration and necrosis of areas of the pectoral muscles in turkeys owing to increased pressure on blood vessels and resultant ischemia; in some breeds it is hereditary. Muscles become greenish, resulting in loss of value of the meat. Called also green muscle disease.
